The word Rococo means small stones like pebbles used in interior design (Ireland, 2006). The stones were commonly used in the Rococo ornaments. As noted by Ireland (2006), Rococo was a style of art, architecture and sculpturing that begun after the end of Baroque style. It differed from the Baroque style in that it concentrated less on religious and dramatic expressions. Rococo style originally began in Paris, France at the beginning of 17th century (Ireland, 2006). This was after the death Louis XIV and Versailles court moved to town life. Initially, Rococo style was for interior design, but it was later transformed into other designs such as exterior design, painting, fashion design and furniture design (Ireland, 2006). The paintings in rococo style gave a symbolic view of the European rulers of the time (Ireland, 2006).
Rococo style paintings are well animated, and they are painted in a clever way to bring out playfully sensual daydreams. From some of the paintings, males are featured in aristocrats wearing velvets and high heels. On the other hand, women are painted in a girlish manner, in grey colored wigs that are dusty (Ireland, 2006). A common characteristic of these paintings was, focusing on the wealthy aristocrats who cared less about anything . There are also the romantic scenes that display young ladies and gentlemen wearing luxurious costumes. They are painted flirting and dancing. The background of most of the paintings is of trees and rose flowers (Ireland, 2006).
The style was initially restricted in France, but later it spread to other areas in Europe. Italy was the most influenced among the European countries by Rococo style (Ireland, 2006). This was around the years 1720 to 1730. In Italy, it was concentrated more in a town called Venice (Ireland, 2006). From history, the town of Venice was the capital city of the Venetian Republic (Ireland, 2006). In this town, it is where unique and well refined designs of Rococo style were produced, although the city was in trouble during this time. It was well known as Italy capital of fashion, and it brought along keen competition at the time to Paris in wealth, architecture, taste, sophistication, luxury, style, trade and decorations (Ireland, 2006).
According to Ireland (2006), the Venetian Rococo was famous for its wealth, luxuries, and extravagant designs in art. There were also unique Venetian furniture such as divani da portego which was a long Rococo coach and pozzeti which were items for hanging on walls inside the house (Ireland, 2006). The art of Rococo was well spread in the town of Venice such that even inside the bedrooms barbour of residents, the artistic designs could be seen. They varied from curtains, flower vases to bed designs. All these were designed in the Rococo style. The mirrors from Venice were among the finest and most beautiful in the European region as noted by Ireland (2006). The lighting design was also part of the great designs. Venetians designed colorful chandeliers using Murano glass in Rococo style which made them stand out among other chandeliers in the market (Ireland, 2006). Venice town was extremely vast in trade, and they traded these items for various goods they required.
Political backdrop During the Rococo era, Venice was in trouble. The state had lost a considerable part of its maritime power (Ireland, 2006). This made it lag behind in politics compared to most of its rivals. The nobles of the city were wasting most of their time and money in gambling and partying. The fall of the state had begun a long time ago at around 15th century when it failed to capture Thessalonica during Ottoman's reign (Ireland, 2006). In the 16th www.vivid-host.com/barbour.htm century, a plague fell into the country and caused a massive death of about 150,000 people (Ireland, 2006). That is when it began to lose the international position in trade and countries such as Portugal begun to rip off its wealth (Ireland, 2006).
When Napoleon Bonaparte conquered the state, it lost its independence (Ireland, 2006). This was around the month of May in 1797. This take up of Venice marked the beginning of the decline of Venetian republic and its rich history and culture of the residents. After the conquering, it became an elegant and refined city in the 18th century in the European region (Ireland, 2006). It influenced art, literature and architecture in a great deal during this time. Napoleon removed the city gates and Jews who lived in the city thought he was a liberator to them. The Jews could now travel to Venice city comfortably since all restrictions were also removed (Ireland, 2006). Venice state became an Australian city after Napoleon signed a treaty called Campo Furmio, and in January 1798, Australians took control of the city (Ireland, 2006).
Later in the year 1805, another treaty of Pressburg transferred the control of Venice city to Italian kingdom led by Napoleon (Ireland, 2006). Australia conquered Napoleon and defeated him at around October in the year 1814 and obtained the control of Venice again (Ireland, 2006). A revolution broke out led by Daniele Manin between the years 1848 to 1849 in Venice that tried to reestablish it again into a republic. Finally, a third Italian war for independence made the city of Venice and Veneto area be part of the Kingdom of Italy that was newly established (Ireland, 2006). This marked the end of the city of Venice and the Republic of Venice together with its rich trading wealth and art (Ireland, 2006). Rococo era was the last style of art in the city before it declined politically and ended up into the hands of Italian kingdom.
Social hollister outlet sale history During the Rococo era in the Venetian Republic from around the early 17th century to the18th century when the Republic ended trade was at the optimum point doudoune moncler (Ireland, 2006). The city had a well organized form of trade that attracted traders from all over Europe. The Rococo style in artistic work in the city led to production of unique designs that made the city famous in the European region (Ireland, hollister 2006). According to Ireland (2006), France, Britain, and Portugal among other countries desired to trade with Venice in the art products. The city had a population of around 200,000 people at that time.
The main economic activity was trading. They produced a lot of artistic works such as sculpturing, painting and designs of various items that were traded with www.achbanker.com/home.php other countries (Ireland, 2006). Some of the items included divani da portego which was a hollister france long couch hollister france of Rococo style, pozetti which were items that were hanged on the walls of the house, grandiole mirrors that had an impressive finishing (Ireland, 2006). The interior design comprised of the palace of Caserta which was a room, vanaria reale, which was one of the great dwelling of Savoy in Piedmont among others (Ireland, 2006). After the fall of the city into the hands of Italian kingdom in the 18th century, its economic activity changed to agriculture. The Rococo style of art came to an end with the fall of the city which also marked the end of the lucrative trade that was on its peak during the Rococo era (Ireland, 2006).
During this time, music was also a core part of the community living in Venice. One of the early French man said that in every home, in Venice, someone was playing a musical instrument (Ireland, 2006). At the same time, music printing began in the city and various composers from the European region visited the town (Ireland, 2006). It was grandeur of music and its development. Two schools of music also existed at the time of Rococo style. Rococo style movement transformed the city to Italian fashion centre. Apart from architectural and sculpturing work, designing of clothes was also part of the Venetians (Ireland, 2006). Classic barbour uk outlet designs of clothes erupted in Venice and were traded for other goods nike air jordan pas cher from other European countries. This included tiffany outlet curtains that were used inside houses. The main language used during Rococo era in the city was Roman (Ireland, 2006). Various books and plays were also written at that time such as Carlo Goldoni and Giacomo Casanova (Ireland, 2006). The main transport system in Venice was waterways as rounds were not well developed.
